Delaware Historic Preservation Commission Approves 30 North Sandusky Project

After a moderate amount of discussion, a staff presentation, and a question and answer session with the applicant, the City of Delaware Historic Preservation Commission approved on Wednesday the proposal of Manos Properties LLC – Sandusky Street Lofts for exterior improvements to the building at 30 North Sandusky Street.

As shared by staff, the building dates from 1869 and was built by Reynolds & Frank. In 1870, the third floor became the Masonic Lodge and was used as such for the next 65 years. In 1930, the storefronts housed a hardward store and billiards parlor. More…

MLK Jr. Holiday Collection Schedule Announced

City of Delaware offices are closed Monday, January 21 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and there will be no refuse collection.

Residential refuse and recycling crews will operate on the “next day” collection schedule, beginning Tuesday, January 22, and continuing through Saturday, January 26, to complete the week’s collections. All accounts, commercial and residential, utilizing dumpsters for collections will remain on the normal weekly collection schedule for the week. More…

Main Street Delaware To Host Kick-Off Dinner, Chocolate Walk

The third annual Main Street Delaware Kick-Off Dinner will be held from 6 PM to 8:30 PM on January 16.

The 2019 edition features a progressive dinner with five, 30 minute stops at some of the downtown area’s best eateries.

Christmas Office Hours and Collections:
City of Delaware offices closed at noon Monday, December 24 and remain closed Tuesday, December 25. Residential refuse will be collected Monday, and the “next day” schedule will be in place Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Delaware Street Turning Into Pedestrian Only Area

Work has begun to convert Marshall Court in Delaware to a pedestrian-only area.

The short roadway, which runs from North Sandusky Street to North Union Street, separates the Delaware County Courthouse and the Rutherford B. Hayes Administrative Building. The project is part of ongoing improvements to the County government’s facilities.

This Weekend, Delaware Is “Home For The Holidays”

This is the weekend when downtown Delaware comes alive with the sights and sounds of the season as Main Street Delaware presents “Home for the Holidays.”

It all begins at 6 PM on Friday near the intersection of William and Sandusky Streets, where carols will be sung before lighting of the community Christmas Tree.
