Village of Ashley to Hosting Free Weekend at Pool

This weekend is Welcome Back weekend in Ashley at the newly renovated and updated Ashley Pool.

Guests can visit the pool for free between the hours of 12 Noon – 6 PM this weekend. The pool reopened this summer after being closed last year due to a crack in the pool liner. A private donation was given toward the project, making it possible for the pool to reopen this year. More…

ODOT Seeks Comments On US36 Project In Vicinity Of New Multi-Use Trail

An Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) project to improve the intersection of U.S. 36 at County Road 605 (Condit Road) in Trenton Township in eastern Delaware County is expected to begin next summer.

The project will add a left-turn lane on U.S. 36, install a traffic signal, and make drainage improvements at the intersection. To construct these improvements, 0.437acre of a standard highway easement will be acquired from land owned by Preservation Parks of Delaware County, which is to be developed into a multi-use trail that will be part of the Ohio to Erie Trail system. Historical Society Receives Grant For Barn Restoration

The Delaware County Historical Society recently completed the first phase of a restoration project at The Barn at Stratford and received a grant from the State of Ohio’s Facilities Construction Commission for $250,000 which covered most of the expenses. Funding was approved by the state legislature as part of the 2018-2019 budget. SAFE Reminds Parents To Keep Kids Safe And Out Of Hot Cars

In 2018, 52 children died in hot cars, making it the deadliest year on record in the last 20 years. As warmer weather fast approaches, Safe Kids Worldwide and the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) are joining together to raise awareness about the importance of child reminder technology and the need for increased public education around the dangers of leaving children in hot cars.

“Close to 800 children have died in hot cars over the last 20 years, and each of those deaths was preventable,” said SAFE Delaware County Coordinator Jackie Bain. “We all have a role to play in preventing vehicular heatstroke in children. If you see a child alone in a car, take action and save their life.” More…

“Touch A Truck” Returns On June 8

The Emergency Medical Services department in Delaware County partners once again with the MOMS Club of Delaware to host its popular and free “Touch a Truck” event.
