Candy Everywhere You Look In Powell

The City of Powell is hosting the annual Candy by the Carload which will occur from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Saturday at the Municipal Building Parking Lot, 47 Hall Street.

The parking lot will be transformed into a trick-or-treater’s treasure chest as local businesses and organizations set up booths and car trunks filled with candy, toys and other Halloween goodies. More…

Powell Commission To Consider New Subdivision

Another housing option may soon be added in Powell.

The City’s Planning and Zoning Commission is set to consider an application next Wednesday from The Camber Company, which seeks to build a new residential subdivision just north of downtown. The issue before the Commission includes whether to rezone 8.4 acres of land from a Residence District zoning classification to Downtown Residence District, thereby allowing the subdivision to be constructed. Watch Those Left Turns In Downtown Powell

The Powell Police Department plans to increase enforcement at the Olentangy and Liberty Street intersection in order to reduce the number of motorists making illegal left turns during the prohibited time frame.

It is illegal to make a left turn at the intersection from 4-7 PM Monday-Friday. Powell Police monitored the intersection during the week of August 13-17, 2018 and found that more than 150 cars made illegal left turns during the prohibited time frames. More…

Public Forums To Allow For Questions And Provide Answers On Powell Fall Ballot Measure

The City of Powell is hosting two upcoming public forums to discuss the proposed income tax increase on the fall ballot from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, September 25 and Tuesday, October 30 in the Municipal Building Council Chambers, 47 Hall Street.

Members from the Citizen Financial Review Task Force will provide a 20-minute presentation beginning at 6:30 PM on how the money comes in and how the City spends it to maintain streets, bike paths, parks and more. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. More…
