Learn why Delaware is the great City it is and meet your local government in person through the City of Delaware Citizens’ Academy.

Go behind the scenes at Delaware’s Police Department, Fire Department and water and sewer plants. Learn the structure of city government at City Hall and more. You already live in one of Ohio’s best hometowns; now you can learn how it works, and make it even better.

The Citizens Academy is a FREE series of in-person classes designed to provide an inside look at the City of Delaware government.

In each class, City staff and elected officials will provide an in-depth look at how our local government functions. Students will go on facility tours, learn all about how different departments operate, and get face to face time with department directors.

Eligibility

The Citizens Academy is open to City of Delaware residents or those who work in the City of Delaware. The minimum age of enrollment is 18. Applicants are requested to attend all sessions.

The next class will form in January 2023
