Delaware Man Sentenced To 130 Months On Drug Charge

Darnell Reeves, 34, of Delaware was sentenced in U.S. District Court last Friday to 130 months in prison for distributing heroin and cocaine laced with fentanyl that resulted in a series of overdoses.

According to court documents, investigators traced fentanyl, heroin and crack cocaine back to Reeves (also known as Bookie), after they responded to the scene of an overdose death in Ostrander, Ohio on Feb. 28, 2018. The victim was found on a couch in a shed, slumped forward with a used syringe under him.

Further investigation tied Reeves’s trafficking activity to an overdose death on Jan. 22, 2018, a nonfatal overdose on Feb.12, 2018, and a fatal overdose on March 2, 2018.

Reeves was arrested in June 2018 on a federal criminal complaint and has remained in custody since. More…

Body Found In Berlin Township Is Missing Columbus Woman

A five-day old missing person case out of Columbus has turned into a criminal investigation as the body of 53-year-old Donna J. Harris was found in Delaware County shortly after 11 AM on Sunday.

The discovery was made in a rural wooded area off of Sherman Road in Berlin Township. Har4ris was pronounced dead at 11:30 AM. More…

Man Arrested After Apparent Murder By Strangulation In Liberty Township

27-year-old Brandon T. Ivy, of central Ohio, has been charged with the murder of an acquaintance, stemming from an alleged domestic violence dispute. The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification.

The incident occurred early Friday evening, November 22, at the victim’s residence in the Bear Pointe Apartments in Liberty Township. More…

Not Using Those Medications? Take Them Back This Saturday

This Saturday, October 26, is another opportunity to take back those medications that are sitting on your shelf – and at least two Delaware County locations will be open for that purpose.

“Keeping medications past their usefulness can be dangerous because time can change how some medications work,” said Lori Criss, director of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. “Medications that you no longer take or that have passed the expiration date on their labels should be disposed of promptly and properly.”

“Keep yourself and your loved ones safe by removing unused medications from your home,” added Ursel J. McElroy, director of the Ohio Department of Aging. “National Prescription Take-Back Day provides a convenient and safe way to do so.” More…
