Ohio In-Demand Jobs List Updated, Interactive Feature Launched

On Monday, Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the launch of Ohio’s updated In-Demand Jobs List. The list was created through a collaboration between the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation (OWT) and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS). Lt. Governor Husted serves as Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation.

Assistance Available For Veterans Seeking Jobs In Ohio

With Veterans Day approaching, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) reminds Ohio veterans of the assistance available to them through the agency’s programs, including a recent law change that allows spouses of transferred military members to collect unemployment benefits if the move forces them to quit their job.

Chuy’s Reportedly Hiring 140 Employees For New Polaris Location

On Thursday, 10TV reported that Chuy’s is hiring some 140 workers for its new location at 1481 Polaris Parkway. The “Tex-Mex” restaurant is scheduled to open in October.

Discrimination Action Filed Against American Freight

An action has been filed against a Delaware-based chain related to alleged hiring discrimination. The following press release was shared by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

American Freight Management Company, LLC d/b/a American Freight Furniture and Mattress, violated federal anti-discrimination laws by engaging in systemic discrimination against female applicants, according to a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) this week.
