The Delaware County Beer & Wine Festival Is Back

The Delaware County Beer & Wine Festival is back on June 25 by popular demand!

Festivalgoers will peruse Boardman Arts Park to find many beer and wine tasting opportunities from different vendors in Delaware County and beyond. With over 55 different tasting options visitors will be able to sip from their local favorites and try new establishments to find their choice of beer, cider, wine and mead.

This year’s Festival has even more to offer visitors. The Festival includes 18 breweries and wineries, 4 food trucks, 3 bands, an art show featuring 20 artisans, as well as other entertainment. Mark your calendars for June 25 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM.

Three bands will headline the Festival. From 3:00 to 4:00 PM, catch Vinntage, a 6-piece classic rock band, playing selections from the 60s through the early 2000s. The McIans will perform from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. The band is known for their modern and traditional Celtic music in the vein of Flogging Molly, the Pogues, Dropkick Murphy’s, and other Celtic punk and rock favorites. Closing the Festival from 6:00 to 8:00 PM will be the Simba Jordan Band, who has performed at mega events across the country including the Buckeye Country Superfest and the Country 500. More…

Today we’re highlighting the return of one of central Ohio’s traditional events — the Columbus Arts Festival.

While many favorite artists, local bands, hands-on activities and food vendors return to the Columbus Arts Festival, there are always new things to discover at the welcome to summer event presented by the American Electric Power Foundation and produced by the Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council). Delaware Arts Festival Returns This Weekend

After a two year absence because of the COVID pandemic, the Delaware Arts Festival is back to tempt the eyes, mouth, and ears this weekend.

The Festival provides two days of art, fun, food, and entertainment for the whole family. Once again, a sea of white tents will line both sides of Sandusky and West Winter Streets with artists exhibiting their creative work including jewelry, leather creations, tie dyed art, pottery, paintings, photography and much more.

Food trucks and musical entertainment are scheduled for South Sandusky Street. Trucks this year include Dan’s Deli, Schmidt’s Hospitality Concepts, Sweet Treats, Riddle’s Ribs, Cate’s Steakhouse Catering, Kent’s Kones, and G and G Concessions.

As in years past, the not-for-profit festival is awarding $20,000 to three county wide senior high school art students to further their visual arts studies. More…

Summer Road Trip: Ohio Mennonite Relief Sale

This year we’re continuing our weekly look at unique events and attractions that are within an easy driving distance of Richland County. We call these “Summer Road Trips.” Of course, we regularly feature the many extraordinary places to visit right here in Richland County and encourage our readers to get out and experience what is on offer in our own backyard.

Today’s Summer Road Trip will take you north on State Route 3 to the nearby county seat of Wooster.

For 56 years, the Mennonite, Brethren, Apostolic and Amish churches of northeastern Ohio have come together to put together a festive event to raise funds for the work of Mennonite Central Committee. After a Covid-limited auction in 2020, the 2021 Ohio Mennonite Relief Sale will return in-person on August 6 & 7. In Our Backyard: Maple Syrup Festival At Malabar Farm

1808Delaware has expanded our coverage to highlight attractions and events within easy driving distance of Delaware Countians in a series called “In Our Backyard.” This will be in addition to our regular coverage of Delaware County happenings.

Maple syrup—everyone’s favorite pancake and waffle topping—is being celebrated at several Ohio state parks next month, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Parks and Watercraft. Warmer days and chilly nights are the ideal conditions to get sap flowing through Ohio’s maple trees. Corn, Corn, And More Corn

Not all corn may have been knee-high by the Fourth of July this year, but the crop is catching up and there will be plenty on hand as the 2019 edition of the Ashley Corn Show kicks off on Thursday, August 1.

Presented by American Legion Post 518, the Corn Show brings three days of fun. There will be sweet corn, of course, as well as Otterbacher Carnival Rides and Games, the Elm Valley Firefighters Food Booth, and local community booths as well.
