Work Beginning at Delaware Shooting Range

Work has begun for the complete renovation of the Delaware Shooting Range and should be completed by the end of 2020, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Contractors have been doing site preparation so environmental remediation efforts can begin this spring.

The Division of Wildlife is working within the framework approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which owns the property where the range is located. Once the environmental remediation work has been completed, the Division of Wildlife plans to begin upgrades to the range this summer. More…

According to its website, History in Your Own Backyard has as its mission a quest to, after locating interest pieces of history, “…document these structures and sites via digital video for the world to see first hand. Three County Trail Projects Receive Funding

Three multi-use trail projects in Delaware County have been selected by the Delaware County Trails Committee to receive funding from its assistance program.

The trail projects are located in Shawnee Hills, Berkshire Township and jointly in the city of Delaware and Liberty Township. The Delaware County Board of Commissioners awarded these projects a total of $78,997.50. More…

Buckeye Blooms On The Way

Ohioans will soon be treated to a spectacular display of native spring wildflowers. This year’s season began in late March in Ohio’s southern counties and gradually will move northward as the season comes to an end in the middle of May, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Natural Areas and Preserves.

“Spring is one of the most magical times of year in Ohio,” said ODNR Director Mary Mertz. “Spring welcomes an array of colorful wildflowers, which line trails and hillsides all over the state. Hiking is a great way to get outdoors to see spring wildflowers and reconnect with nature after the chill of the winter months.” More…
