Genoa Township officials are planning to construct a 1,400 foot long multi-use trail, and they are looking for public input in the planning process.

The trail as proposed is on the west side of Worthington Road from Braymoore Drive to approximately 100 north of Jaccox Road. On both ends it will meet with trail segments.

Identified environmental impacts include the loss of 50 individual trees and the disturbance of what is referred to as “common terrestrial vegetation” (shrubs, hedges, etc.).

Spring Cleaning Service Makes A Come-Back In Genoa Township

17 Feb , 2021

The popular short-term dumpster service will return in 2021 from May 1-8 for Genoa Township residents.  The program had been discontinued due to improper use of dumpsters in previous years. Follow all guidelines for disposal to ensure the service continues into the future.

Yard waste and general trash will be accepted for disposal in the temporary dumpsters at the Genoa Township Maintenance Facility located just beyond the Fire Station at 7049 Big Walnut Road. Residents may make an unlimited amount of trips to drop off material between 8 AM. and 8 PM. Proof of residency is required.

Branches, leaves and other yard waste must be loose or in paper bags. No plastic materials should be mixed as yard waste will be composted. Loads with plastic can be rejected by the composting facility and could lead to the cancellation of the service.

Item that will not be accepted include appliances, wire fencing, tires, batteries, paint, oil, computers, monitors and any material that is corrosive, toxic, flammable or reactive. More…

14 Jan , 2021

Special to 1808Delaware

Beginning last week, yogurt and fruit cups, and sour cream and butter tubs were added to Rumpke’s expanding accepted materials list.

These materials must be separated and taken to the landfill, making operations less efficient. In fact, plastic bags and Christmas lights jam conveyor belts halting work and requiring repairs to specialized sorting equipment. More…

Genoa Township Releases Info On Proposed Levies

10 Sep , 2020

Genoa Township has three levies on the upcoming ballot to be decided on by voters.

Every five-years police and fire operating levies are brought to voters for consideration. Both departments performed well financially over the previous period and are therefore reducing millage this fall.

A third .6 mill levy would support park improvements and operations. The levy is new, but would not increase overall millage due to the combined equal decrease from the police and fire levies. The dollar cost would increase an estimated $4.15 annually per $100,000 of value as a result of a 10% State of Ohio tax “roll back” the Police and Fire renewal levies receive that the Parks Levy will not.
