It’s Jug Week In Delaware

It’s a way different Little Brown Jug and Delaware County Fair Week in Delaware.

The 75th running of the Jug, as well as the rest of the Delaware Grand Circuit harness racing meet, will be conducted without spectators. It will be available to watch online, however, through the Little Brown Jug’s simulcast network.

As locals know well, Thursday’s Little Brown Jug is the third and final leg of the Triple Crown of Harness Racing for Pacers.

Five Days In Delaware Heralds Little Brown Jug

The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association (OHHA) will present “Five Days in Delaware,” beginning Sunday, September 20 and running through Thursday, September 24, as part of Little Brown Jug Week at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.

A full slate of programming is scheduled for the week, including coverage of all five days of racing, which can be found on at, the OHHA Facebook page, and OHHA YouTube Channel.

The OHHA will begin each day with Trackside Live, presented by Hagemeyer Farms.  Trackside Live is a half-hour interview show hosted by OHHA Outreach and Public Relations Coordinator Frank Fraas.  Two shows will air each day prior to post time. More…

Oral History Project Celebrates 75th Running Of Little Brown Jug

Over the last year, volunteers at the Delaware County Historical Society have been working on an Oral History Project to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the running of the Little Brown Jug Harness Race.

Hundreds of hours were spent interviewing people associated with the race and compiling a series of videos available on our website – Excerpts from these interviews will be broadcast on WDLR Radio during morning and afternoon segments on the five days of racing at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. The Ohio Harness Horseman’s Association will also be broadcasting the race and using portions of the interviews during their broadcast. Huston Joins OHHA As Brand Ambassador

The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association is proud to welcome Roger Huston, “The Voice of Harness Racing” as a Brand Ambassador.

Huston will help promote harness racing in the state of Ohio and assist with promotional activities for the Association.

Huston has called over 188,000r aces throughout his career in at least 20 states and eight countries, and was inducted as a member of the United States Harness Writer’s Association Communicators Hall of Fame in 2000 and received its Proximity Award in 2011. More…



It’s Little Brown Jug Time Thursday

It’s well-known as one of the three jewels in the Triple Crown of Harness Racing.

Post time for the 2019 edition of the Little Brown Jug will be Thursday at 11:30 AM at the Delaware County Fairgrounds racetrack. Run on what is considered the fastest half-mile track in the world, this is the premier pacing classic for 3 year olds. More…

Little Brown Jug Memories Featured At Historical Society Program

Two presenters, Roger Huston, the long-time announcer, and Jay Wolf, unofficial historian of the Little Brown Jug harness race, will be featured at the next community program offered by the Delaware County Historical Society. Following their comments, audience members will be asked to share their own stories about the race which will be recorded as part of the Little Brown Jug Oral History Project, a digital archive for capturing and sharing local community history.
