Summer Road Trip: Shakespeare Under The Stars

This year we’re continuing our weekly look at unique events and attractions that are within an easy driving distance of Delaware County. We call these “Summer Road Trips.” Of course, we regularly feature the many extraordinary places to visit right here in Delaware County and encourage our readers to get out and experience what is on offer in our own backyard.

If you have never been to a presentation by The Actors’ Theatre at Schiller Park in Columbus’ German Village, you really will be in for a treat if you take this particular road trip. We at 1808Delaware have been there in years past, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The regular presentation of works of Shakespeare and other playwrights leads off this summer with an open air production of the great bard’s “Much Ado About Nothing.” More…

OWU Presents Twelfth Night, 2021

Ohio Wesleyan University’s Department of Theatre & Dance will present five free performances of “Twelfth Night, 2020,” an updated version of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy rewritten by OWU alumnus, instructor, and actor Bradford Sadler.

The play will be performed at 7 PM on April 23, April 24, April 30, and May 1, and at 2 PM on May 2 in Ohio Wesleyan’s outdoor amphitheater, located beside Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Avenue, Delaware. Admission is free, but people must register in advance to help ensure public health guidelines are met. To register, visit owu.edu/TwelfthNight,2020 or contact the box office at (740) 368-3855.

“This is the first time any full-scale faculty-directed and designed production will take place in the amphitheater, and we want it to be a meaningful, positive, and welcoming experience for all,” said Sadler, a 2005 Ohio Wesleyan graduate. More…
