Bird Club Announces Fall Speakers

Lovers of feathered friends join together each month as the Delaware County Bird Club holds get-togethers at Deer Haven park on selected Monday evenings.

Anyone interested in birds is welcome to attend, and all ages are welcome. Each meeting features a different speaker covering exciting birding-related topics, and attendees can share news of their own bird sightings. Doors open at 6:30 PM with the program beginning at 7 PM. More…

The Delaware County Model Railroader Group throws open the doors of their installation once a month for visitors to experience the fun of railroading on a smaller scale. At the Sandel Legacy Trail House, view model trains (HO scale) travel through a miniature village and countryside.

ODOT Seeks Comments On US36 Project In Vicinity Of New Multi-Use Trail

8 Jun , 2019  

An Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) project to improve the intersection of U.S. 36 at County Road 605 (Condit Road) in Trenton Township in eastern Delaware County is expected to begin next summer.

The project will add a left-turn lane on U.S. 36, install a traffic signal, and make drainage improvements at the intersection. To construct these improvements, 0.437acre of a standard highway easement will be acquired from land owned by Preservation Parks of Delaware County, which is to be developed into a multi-use trail that will be part of the Ohio to Erie Trail system. Take A Hike To Start The Year Off Right

There are two opportunities to begin your 2019 with hikes through nature in Delaware County.

A “New Year’s Day Hike” will start things off at 10 AM on Tuesday. This is the a healthy hike led by Preservation Parks’ volunteer Len Fisher through the woods and prairies of Deer Haven Park and Havener Park. Afterward, put up your feet a bit and warm up with a hot beverage and cookies by the fireplace in the visitors center.
