Public Meeting Set On SR 315 Intersection Improvements

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) would like your input on the proposed improvements to the intersection of SR 315 and Jewett Road.

A virtual public meeting will occur on July 16 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM to go over the proposed alternatives.

Two Temporary Closures Begin Monday

Monday brings two temporary closures related to ongoing projects in Orange Township, according to the office of Delaware County Engineer Chris Bauserman.

Frst, Shanahan Road will be closed between US 23 and Mercer Street from Monday until July 10 for intersection reconstruction

Second, due to a Del-Co Water project, a section of the Walking / Bike Trail that runs parallel to the railroad tracks between Lewis Center Road and East Orange Road will be temporarily closed. More…

That Sinking Feeling: Photos

The deluge of water that the area experienced recently is continuing to make its impact known.

Earlier this week, the District Six office of the Ohio Department of Transportation shared news via Facebook and on OHGO.com, the state’s real-time traffic advisory system, that US42 had been closed at SR37 until further notice for “emergency repairs.”

Drivers were advised to take US23 to SR229 to get to US42.

On Thursday, ODOT revealed the nature of that emergency — a giant sinkhole. More…

Time Adjustment For Home Road Bridge Project

Changes in traffic volume related to Ohio’s stay-at-home order continue to have an impact on road and highway projects across Ohio.

This is true in Delaware County, where the office of the Delaware County Engineer has been sharing update notices in terms of when and where road projects will begin.

Take, for instance, the Home Road Bridge Project. This work is part of the $5.3 million State Route 315 and Home Road Intersection Project that includes a new traffic signal and the widening of Home Road to five lanes. More…

Orange Township Roundabout Project To Begin Next Week

The decrease in road traffic resulting from the State of Ohio’s Stay-at-Home Order is having some unexpected consequences.

For one thing, lighter traffic is prompting a revision of road project activity around the county as local governments take advantage of a safer construction environment.

One project which has moved from a July to September period is now scheduled to being on April 20.

The intersection of Green Meadows Drive and Highland Drive in Orange Townshhip will be closed for the installation of a new, modern single-land roundabout. More…

Intersection Work Starting In The Spring

An Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) project to improve the intersections of US Route 42 and State Routes 745 and 257 in Delaware County is expected to begin when the construction season gets underway.

The improvements include adding left turn lanes at both intersections, widening the shoulder, as well as upgrading drainage, guardrail, traffic signals, and resurfacing. The project location is shown on the map below. More…

County Breaks Ground On Home Road Extension

This week, groundbreaking partnership of public and private organizations literally broke ground.

Officials from the Delaware County Engineer’s and Commissioners’ offices marked the launch of the next phase of the Home Road Extension — an East-West connector road that is the first major project undertaken by the county’s Transportation Improvement District (TID). This phase of the $10 million project will build a nearly one-mile long, four-lane roadway from U.S. Route 23 to just west of the Norfolk Southern/CSX railroad tracks, extensions of Graphics Way and Green Meadow Drive to meet Home Road, and a one-mile sanitary sewer extension. East William Street To Close On Saturday

As part of the East William Street widening project, East William Street between Lake Street and the Point will close to traffic on Saturday, August 24 from 7 AM to 5 PM

During Saturday’s activities, traffic will be detoured using Central Ave. and Lake Street, and residents with driveway access to William Street should park their vehicles on a side street. Access to businesses near Potter Street and Frank Street will be maintained from the Lake Street/William Street intersection. More…

ODOT Seeks Comments On US36 Project In Vicinity Of New Multi-Use Trail

8 Jun , 2019  

An Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) project to improve the intersection of U.S. 36 at County Road 605 (Condit Road) in Trenton Township in eastern Delaware County is expected to begin next summer.

The project will add a left-turn lane on U.S. 36, install a traffic signal, and make drainage improvements at the intersection. To construct these improvements, 0.437acre of a standard highway easement will be acquired from land owned by Preservation Parks of Delaware County, which is to be developed into a multi-use trail that will be part of the Ohio to Erie Trail system.
