Genoa Township Seeks Input On Multi-Use Trail

Genoa Township officials are planning to construct a 1,400 foot long multi-use trail, and they are looking for public input in the planning process.

The trail as proposed is on the west side of Worthington Road from Braymoore Drive to approximately 100 north of Jaccox Road. On both ends it will meet with trail segments.

Identified environmental impacts include the loss of 50 individual trees and the disturbance of what is referred to as “common terrestrial vegetation” (shrubs, hedges, etc.).

The construction will require that the Township acquire a permanent easement over the affected area. More…

Sunbury Holding Open House For Trail Extension

The Village of Sunbury will be holding an open house for the purpose of seeking public comment on a proposed extension of the Ohio Fallen Heroes Trail.

The event will take place at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, September 23 on the first floor of the Town Hall at 51 East Cherry Street.

The proposal would continue an approximately 1000 foot segment of the trail from West Granville Street south through Old Orchard Park to the new high school. The trail connects the Community Library with the Fallen Heroes Memorial, dedicated in 2007. More…

Get Some Help to Build A Trail

The Delaware County Trails Committee (DCTC) is accepting funding applications for its 2020-2022 Delaware County Trail Assistance Program now and until October 1. The DCTC has $100,000 available for projects related to the creation of new multi-use trails or for the improvement of currently existing trails.

Eligible applicants include local governmental entities, park districts and non-profit organizations. Potential projects can include, but are not limited to, construction of multi-use trails in Delaware County, acquisition of property and easements for multi-use trails, or for maintenance. Trail Grant Coming To Delaware County, Dispatch Reports

Great start of the year news came this week in the form of a report in the Columbus DIspatch article sharing news that a $500,000 trails grant is coming to Delaware County.

The funding, which comes from the Clean Ohio Trail Fund, will allow Preservation Parks to complete a 2.25 mile section of the Ohio to Erie trail northeast of Sunbury. More…

Three County Trail Projects Receive Funding

Three multi-use trail projects in Delaware County have been selected by the Delaware County Trails Committee to receive funding from its assistance program.

The trail projects are located in Shawnee Hills, Berkshire Township and jointly in the city of Delaware and Liberty Township. The Delaware County Board of Commissioners awarded these projects a total of $78,997.50. More…

County Communities Invited To Apply For Trail Funding

The Delaware County Trail Committee is launching the Trail Assistance Program for 2019 and invites Delaware County communities and organizations to apply for funding.
