Delaware County remained at Level 3, or “Red,” under the Ohio Public Health Advisory System.
There was also good news in that only two indicators were met this week, as opposed to five the previous Thursday. The numbers suggested at least a leveling of if nor a slight turnaround in the current wave of cases.
Most Ohio counties, including all of Delaware County’s contiguous counties, remained at the “Red” Level this week.
ICU bed use remains relatively constant.
There are currently 874.38 cases per 100,000 residents in the county, the 26th highest rate in Ohio.
Numbers released for Delaware County schools were slightly lower from last week, which then represented the highest figures to date. As compared to last Thursday’s increase of 121, this week there were 102 new school-related cases shared with the Ohio Department of Health.
The new cases included 86 new students and 16 new staff that tested positive for the virus. These cases were in 7 school districts or private school settings.
It is also possible that the arrival of Christmas break and continued remote learning had an impact on these figures.
