Truth be told, Delaware County residents have been spoiled a bit over the last couple of years, snow-wise.

That luck may be about to change.

Weather experts are sharing tidings of Winter Storm Tabitha, which is set to arrive in our neck of the woods on Monday morning. Between then and Tuesday afternoon, heavy snow is possible here. In the Delaware County area, that translates into 5 to 8 inches of the white stuff.

Obviously, that kind of snowfall will have a major impact on travel. Morning and evening commutes may be impacted then, and for as long as that heavy snow remains unmelted. That may be awhile, as the next day with forecast highs at freezing or above is Thursday.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington, and the chance of snow on Monday is now up to 100%.

The snow will be accompanied by lower temperatures, with Tuesday’s projected low being just 3 degrees.

1808Delaware will have updates on this weather story as Monday nears.
