Columbus Business First reported last week that Washington Prime Group Inc., the owner of shopping centers across the country including Polaris Fashion Place, may be nearing bankruptcy according to “published reports.”

Those reports say that the company has reached an impasse with creditors.

The Business First story can be read here.

One of those reports was that posted by Bloomberg last Thursday, which can be found here.

The company’s stock has taken a series of downturns in recent weeks, and lost over $133 million during the first nine months of 2020. It obtained financing to buy 110 malls in 2017.

Washington Prime has hired advisors to fix its trajectory and future.
