As the temperatures warm into the 80s, and as school years wind to a close, the minds of many Delawareans are turning to all things summer.

And what could be more summer than a trip to the pool?

Fortunately, the City of Delaware will be opening the Jack Florence Pool at Mingo Park on Saturday, May 29. It will remain open until Monday, September 6.

Concessions will be available poolside. Guests will be required to abide by the Ohio Department of Health Director’s Order dated May 17, which can be read here, and the pool rules, which can be found here.

This summer, hours will be as follows:

Monday through Friday — Morning Lap Swim from 6 AM to 7 AM; Lap and Open Swim from Noon to 8 PM

Saturday and Sunday — Lap and Open Swim from Noon to 7 PM

These hours will change when Delaware Schools start the 2021-2022 year to Noon to 8 PM on Saturday and Sunday with possible weeknight evenings added.

Daily admission is available to City of Delaware residents only ($4 up to age 17; $6 for 18 and above). Memberships will be sold first to residents and have already begun at the office at 500 East Lincoln. You should bring an ID or a City of Delaware utility bill that has your name and address on it. Payment options are check, credit card, or exact cash.

For more information on membership, as well as details on Learn to Swim classes and large group events, contact the pool by phoning 740-203-1450 or emailing [email protected].
