ODOT District 6 has released its weekly report highlighting road construction projects which are beginning or underway in the multi-county area it serves. What follows are posted projects taking place within Delaware County.
Please stay safe and pay attention to these closures and work taking place during the week beginning on May 30. Note that ODOT works with its contractors to reduce the size of work zones and open as many lanes as possible through the holiday weekend. Work will resume at full capacity Tuesday, June 1 on the following projects:
Interstate 71
NEW IMPACTS
- I-71 southbound between Polaris Parkway and I-270 will have nighty lane restrictions (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Tuesday, June 1 through Thursday, June 3 for resurfacing.
- The Gemini Place ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Thursday, June 3.
- Detour: Gemini Place to Polaris Parkway to SR 3 to SR 161 westbound to I-71 southbound.
- The I-270 westbound ramp to I-71 southbound on the northside will close overnight (11 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Thursday, June 3.
- Detour: I-270 westbound to U.S. 23 southbound to SR 161 eastbound to I-71 southbound.
- The SR 750/Polaris Parkway eastbound and westbound ramps to I-71 southbound will close overnight (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Thursday, June 3.
- Detour: SR 3 to SR 161 westbound to I-71 southbound.
- The I-71 southbound ramp to I-270 westbound on the northside will close overnight (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Thursday, June 3.
- Detour: I-71 southbound to SR 161 to I-71 northbound to I-270 westbound.
- The I-71 southbound ramp to I-270 eastbound on the northside will close overnight (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Thursday, June 3.
- Detour: I-71 southbound to SR 161 to I-71 northbound to I-270 eastbound.
State Route 61
NEW IMPACTS
SR 61 and Wilson Rd./SR 656 Roundabout – The intersection of SR 61 and Wilson Rd./SR 656 will close starting Tuesday, June 1 through August 2021 for construction of a peanut roundabout.
- Detour: SR 61 to I-71 southbound to US 36 eastbound to SR 36/3 eastbound to SR 61 or reverse.
U. S. Route 23
U.S. Route 23 North Side Sign Upgrades – Upgrade lane assignment signs to a larger size on U.S. 23 approaching I-270, install additional signs, modify striping on U.S. 23 south to allow a dedicated lane for each entrance ramp. Estimated completion: Summer 2021
CONTINUING IMPACTS
U.S. 23 southbound at I-270 will have daily lane restrictions (7 a.m. – 4 p.m.) starting Monday, March 1 through June 2021 for sign and lane assignment upgrades.
