The Northwest Neighborhood of Delaware, several square blocks of wonderful nineteenth and early twentieth century architecture, will be hosting its biennial Holiday Home Tour this weekend.

The 2018 edition will occur on Saturday, December 8 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.[widgets_on_pages id=1]

Eight locations are featured this year, seven homes and one church. The buildings were built between 1856 and the 1950s – a full century of local history. Included is Asbury United Methodist Church, a limestone landmark which boasts Tiffany windows.

Proceeds from the Holiday Home Tour go toward neighborhood improvement projects, including downtown. According to event organizers, “Past tours have raised money for such things as the purchase of Christmas lights and ornaments for the trees in the downtown area, trees planted on the tree-lawn around the neighborhood, and the purchase of new seats for the Strand Theatre renovation.”

Ticket vouchers are available at: Delaware Antique Mall at 18 N. Sandusky Street and at Edwin Loy Home/Stone & Sparrow at 27 N. Sandusky Street. Vouchers can then be exchanged for tickets and programs at Gallery 22, 22 East Winter Street, between 2:00 and 6:00 PM. Tickets are $20, and $25 the day of the tour.

Online ticket purchases and additional information can be found on the Northwest Neighborhood Association website.
