The City of Delaware has unveiled a new citizen platform for registering for sports leagues, recreation classes and reserving a city facility. The CivicRec! online system went online January 27.

Residents can create an account with their email address, then are able to view program offerings, register and make online payments.

“Residents really appreciate that everything is one place,” Parks and Natural Resources Director Ted Miller said. “Before CivicRec, our registration process was out of date and not consistent.”

The link to the CivicRec! signup page is here. The platform allows users self-service reservation functionality, access to information about upcoming program offerings, and the ability to receive notifications on class cancellations and facility closures.

The City in 2021 resumed running recreation programs and rec facilities from the Central Ohio YMCA after 10 years of YMCA oversight. Since then, the City of Delaware has been expanding its recreation programs.

Staff and residents appreciate the time-saving benefits of having a one-stop shop for recreation and, administratively, the City of Delaware is benefitting from CivicRec’s integrated payment functionality.

“We like having the ability to process funds,” Miller said. “We adapted our processes to take advantage of what the system can do for us, and it will be quite beneficial.”
