This Friday, July 7, Main Street Delaware will transform the town into a vibrant canvas of creativity for their monthly “First Friday” event.

This July, the theme will be “Chalk It Up For Freedom,” inviting the community to showcase their artistic talents by drawing on the sidewalks from 6 to 9 p.m.

This community event encourages participants of all skill levels, from professionals to amateurs, to engage in the joy of art-making, while simultaneously celebrating freedom. In the spirit of unity, the event will make the town’s sidewalks their playground and blank canvas.

Yoga to Free the Spirit

As part of the festivities, Main Street Delaware is partnering with GoYoga to offer a “Freedom Flow” yoga class. Taking place at 7 p.m. on the corner of Winter & Sandusky Street, yogis are encouraged to bring their mats and experience a moment of tranquility amidst the artistic buzz. This unique event will blend the physical flexibility of yoga with the creativity of art-making, representing a true embodiment of freedom.

Convenient Transport with the First Friday Shuttle

For ease of commuting, a First Friday shuttle service will be operational from 6 to 9 PM. The shuttle will run in 15-minute rotations, allowing attendees to conveniently park their cars at the County lot (145 N Union St) and get a free ride downtown. Patrons can expect to be dropped off on William Street near the popular local spot, Barley Hopsters.

Classic Cars on Display

Car enthusiasts can also look forward to a special showcase of classic cars by Artomotive. Backed by the support of Community Investors Performance Auto Group and Sheetz, this exhibit promises a diverse range of vintage vehicles to admire. The classic cars add a unique flair to the event, echoing a sense of nostalgia and freedom from a bygone era.

Join the Celebration

Main Street Delaware invites you to come out and participate in this celebration of freedom, creativity, and community spirit. Whether you’re an artist ready to unleash your creativity on the sidewalk, a yoga enthusiast looking forward to a tranquil session, a vintage car lover, or simply someone looking to enjoy a fun-filled summer night, there’s something for everyone at the July First Friday event. Mark your calendars and get ready to ‘Chalk it Up for Freedom’!
