The City of Delaware will see a regular meeting of the City Council on July 10 at 7PM, scheduled to take place at City Hall’s Council Chambers. Citizens are encouraged to participate by attending the meeting in person or tuning in to the live stream on the city’s official website, www.delawareohio.net, under the “Events” section.

The meeting will feature presentations and discussions on crucial matters impacting the community. Let’s take a closer look at the agenda items that will be addressed during the session.

Presentations

The Council will begin with a special presentation to honor the outstanding service of K-9 Officer Ollie to the City of Delaware. Officer Ollie has been an indispensable asset in maintaining law and order. The proclamation will highlight Officer Ollie’s contributions.

Additionally, Greg Shumate from DESMAN Design Management will present the Parking Garage Feasibility Study. This study holds significant importance for the City of Delaware as it explores the feasibility of constructing a parking garage to address the growing parking concerns.

Consideration of Liquor Permit Transfer of Ownership

The City Council will deliberate on the transfer of liquor permits of two establishments.

The first consideration is the transfer of ownership from Frisch Enterprises Inc. DBA Marathon Food Mart to Pace Petro OH37 LLC DBA Delaware Marathon. The location in question is situated on the east side of the building and basement at 715 Sunbury Road, Delaware, Ohio 43015. The permit classes involved are C1, C2, and D6.

The second transfer of ownership under discussion is from Olivina Taproom LLC, DBA Olivina Taproom to Desi Tadka LLC. This transfer pertains to the first floor and patio of the establishment located at 44 South Sandusky Street, Delaware, Ohio 43015. The permit classes involved in this case are D2 and D3.

Both transfers have undergone thorough background investigations and have received staff recommendations for approval.

Council Item of Discussion – City’s Income Tax Rate

Continuing from previous meetings, the Council will engage in a detailed discussion regarding the City’s Income Tax Rate. This crucial matter will be deliberated upon, taking into consideration various factors that impact the city’s financial stability and growth.
