They’ve become a common occurrence around the country. During the “non-planting” times of the year, and often in the middle of winter, gardening and horticulture enthusiasts congregate to exchange their favorite seeds. These exchanges can be an opportunity to build community, share information about plant variety and gardening techniques, and to learn about each other’s projects.

[widgets_on_pages id=1]If this sounds enjoyable to your ears, you’re in luck! Preservation Parks will be hosting a seed swap on Saturday, January 26 at 10 AM. The fun will take place at Gallant Farm, 2150 Buttermilk Hill Road in Delaware.

Come help Delaware County Master Gardeners celebrate National Seed Swap Day at the farm. Bring your seeds to swap for other seeds or plants to grow in your garden.  Come even if you do not have seeds to share.  Swap heirloom seeds, rhizomes, roots, or tubers with other gardeners, or to just enjoy the activities and fun of the “swap!”

This will be a warming good time to start imagining your spring garden! The event is free and all ages are welcome.
