The Delaware Public Health District office is set to usher in a new era of community service with the opening of its new location at 470 S. Sandusky Street in Delaware. Starting Monday, August 28, the public will have access to essential services such as birth and death records, licenses, and permits. However, clinic services will continue to be handled at the Sunbury location until September 5.

The move to the new facility marks a significant milestone for the health district, reflecting its commitment to adapt to the needs of a growing community.

The transition to the new location has been a carefully planned process. The long-time Downtown Delaware office on West Winter Street was permanently closed on Tuesday, May 16, paving the way for the imminent opening of the new building on South Sandusky Street.

During the interim period, patrons were directed to the Sunbury Office, ensuring uninterrupted access to vital services.

The relocation of the health district office is not merely a change of address; it’s a strategic response to the challenges posed by the county’s population growth. The expansion of the district’s services has become a necessity, and the new facility is a testament to the district’s dedication to meeting the community’s evolving needs.

Spanning a significant 30,000 square feet, the new facility will be accompanied by a 200-space parking lot and utilize nine acres of land. This expansion is expected to significantly enhance the district’s ability to serve the community.

The construction of the new facility is more than a physical expansion; it’s a symbol of the Delaware Public Health District’s forward-thinking approach. With features designed to accommodate the growing demands of the community, the new office on South Sandusky Street is a future-ready facility.

The new building’s strategic location, ample parking, and modern design are all part of a vision to create a hub that is accessible, efficient, and responsive to the community’s needs.

In conclusion, the opening of the new Delaware Public Health District office is a significant step towards a more robust and resilient public health system in the county. It’s a move that reflects a deep understanding of the community’s needs and a willingness to evolve and innovate. The new facility stands as a beacon of progress, ready to serve the community today and well into the future.
