As the leaves change color and the air turns crisp, Preservation Parks of Delaware County invites you to step into the great outdoors with their “Step Into Fall Hike Them All Challenge.”

Running from September 1 to November 30, this initiative encourages participants to explore all the nature trails within Preservation Parks. The challenge offers multiple registration options to suit your preferences. You can either sign up for free and receive a trail checklist to mark your journey, or opt for a $15 registration fee that includes a hiking staff and a custom challenge medallion. If you already have a hiking stick and just want to add a medallion, you can do so for a $5 fee. Each year, you can add a new “Hike Them All Challenge” medallion to your hiking stick, making it a tradition to look forward to.

How to Register and What to Expect

Registration is required for participation and can be done through the Preservation Parks RecDesk portal. Once registered, you’ll be notified via email when your hiking staff and medallions are ready for pickup at the Deer Haven Park Visitor Center during its operating hours. The trail checklist is available immediately upon registration. For those who have questions about the registration process, you can email or call the provided contact details. Participants are also encouraged to opt-in for text messages to receive updates on park closures and other program-related news.

The Trails Await: Locations and Directions

The challenge covers multiple parks and trails, each offering a unique experience of nature’s autumnal beauty. For locations and directions to each park, you can visit the Parks & Trails page on the Preservation Parks website. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a beginner, the “Step Into Fall Hike Them All Challenge” offers something for everyone.
