The annual Olentangy Watershed Forum is set to return, promising a day filled with engaging presentations, thought-provoking discussions, and ample networking opportunities for those passionate about the Olentangy River’s conservation and preservation.

Morning Session: Engaging with Nature’s Blueprint

The forum will kick off with a presentation by Eric Saas, the ODNR H2Ohio Program Manager, who will delve into the intricacies of the “New H2Ohio River Initiative”. Heather Doherty, the ODNR Central Ohio Scenic Rivers Manager, will then provide insights into the “New Scenic River Land Protected through Stormwater Mitigation”.

Following a brief 15-minute break, Vanessa Bishop, Supervisory Natural Resources Specialist from the US Army Corps of Engineers, will enlighten attendees about “Everything you need to know about the Delaware Dam”. Wrapping up the morning sessions, Dr. Charlie Flower, a USDA Research Ecologist, will discuss the “Restoration of the American Elm & The Best Strategies for the Restoration after a Honeysuckle Removal”.

Afternoon Session: Taking Action and Making an Impact

Post a lunch break provided by partners, attendees will be updated on the “State of the Watershed” with presentations from partner entities such as FLOW, DELCO, Preservation Parks & City of Delaware.

The last stretch of the forum will see Tom Harcarik from the EPA Division of Environmental & Financial Assistant present on the “5th Avenue Dam Restoration”, and Ted Miller, Director of Delaware Parks, shedding light on the “Olentangy River: Multi-Use Trail Visibility Study”.
