Main Street Delaware is once again at the forefront of community engagement, this time presenting the November First Friday event titled “Community Harvest.” The event aims to bring together Delaware County non-profits and services, offering residents an opportunity to gather information and partake in giveaways. The occasion is not just a social gathering but a platform for community enrichment.

Paint-a-Plow: A Colorful City Initiative

Adding a splash of color to the event is the City of Delaware’s Paint-a-Plow display. This initiative allows residents to engage with city services in a fun and interactive manner. It’s not just about the aesthetics; it’s about fostering a sense of community involvement and awareness of the services that keep the city running smoothly.

Fighting Hunger, One Donation at a Time

One of the highlights of the Community Harvest event is the Thanksgiving Food Drive, part of the 2023 Fight Against Hunger Games. Attendees are encouraged to bring food donations either on First Friday or the following week. Drop-off locations include Opa Grill & Tavern, Fresh Start Café & Bakery, and Homestretch Apparel.

Most Needed Items

The food drive has specified a list of most-needed items, aiming to make the most impact this Thanksgiving. The list includes:

  • Instant Mashed Potatoes (13 oz box or larger)
  • Cake Mix (any flavor)
  • Frosting (any flavor)
  • Macaroni and Cheese
  • Foil Roasting Pan (large enough for a small turkey)

A Big Thank You to Community Investors

The event wouldn’t be possible without the support of community investors. Special thanks go to Performance Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Delaware and Sheetz for their contributions. Their investment in the community goes beyond financial support; it’s about building a stronger, more connected Delaware County.

Event Details

Mark your calendars for November 3, from 6 PM to 9 PM, and make your way to Main Street Delaware to be part of this enriching community event.
