The Winter Letterbox Adventure, organized by Preservation Parks, is not just an outdoor activity but a journey through five different parks, running from December 16 to March 17. This adventure offers a unique blend of exploration and education, themed around the wonders of space.
Unraveling the Mysteries of the Cosmos
Participants in the Winter Letterbox Adventure are invited to traverse through five distinct parks. Each park hosts a sign, contributing to a fragmented quote about space. Adding an element of mystery, four of these signs also feature a number. Adventurers are tasked with noting these words and numbers, as they form the key to unlocking the final prize.
This adventure is designed to be family-friendly, offering an engaging way for people of all ages to connect with nature and learn about space. The clues provided lead participants through various parks, making it both a physical and intellectual pursuit. It’s an ideal activity for those looking to combine fitness, family time, and education.
Claiming the Celestial Prize
The climax of this adventure involves assembling the collected words and numbers from each park sign into a coherent quote and number sequence. This sequence acts as a code to unlock a prize bin, either at the Deer Haven Park Visitor Center or on the Gallant Farm farmhouse front porch. However, the quest is time-sensitive – prizes are available only until March 24, 2024, or while supplies last.
Park Hours and Locations
Prizes can be collected during specific park hours:
- Deer Haven Park: 8 AM – 7 PM daily from December to February, and 8 AM – 9 PM in March.
- Gallant Farm: 12 PM – 5 PM from Thursday to Sunday.
