Wildlife Rehabilitation: The Ohio Wildlife Center operates the only Wildlife Hospital in the region, located inside Animal Care Unlimited. This specialized hospital admits nearly 5,000 injured and orphaned wild animals annually, encompassing over 137 different species. The dedicated team at the hospital works tirelessly to rehabilitate these animals, giving them a second chance at life in the wild.

Nature Education Center: Situated on a sprawling 20-acre site in Powell, the Nature Education Center offers a variety of educational programs, day camps, and field trips. Led by professional educators, these programs aim to educate the public about the importance of wildlife conservation and the unique characteristics of Ohio’s native species.

SCRAM! Wildlife Control: The Center also provides humane wildlife control services through its SCRAM! Wildlife Control program. This service offers natural and permanent solutions for managing wildlife that may have taken up residence in or around homes and businesses, ensuring a harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife.

Why Wild Story Times Matter

Engaging children in wildlife education from a young age is crucial for fostering a lifelong appreciation and respect for nature. The Ohio Wildlife Center’s Wild Story Times not only introduce kids to the wonders of wildlife but also instill important values about conservation and the environment.

Interactive Learning: By combining storytelling with real-life animal encounters and hands-on activities, Wild Story Times provide a multi-sensory learning experience that is both memorable and impactful.

Building Connections: Meeting an animal ambassador up close allows children to form personal connections with wildlife, making the lessons they learn more relatable and meaningful.

Fun and Educational: The activities are designed to be fun and engaging, ensuring that children are excited about learning and exploring the natural world around them.
