Delaware residents have more than just the changing seasons to look forward to. On September 22 the city will host ResiFest, Delaware’s premier mental health awareness festival, at Boardman Arts Park. This all-day event promises a blend of music, community resources, and family-friendly activities, all designed to foster resilience and support mental well-being in the community.
A Festival with a Purpose
ResiFest isn’t just another community gathering; it’s a powerful movement aimed at bringing mental health to the forefront. The festival is aptly named, highlighting the resilience forged through community and the arts. In a world where mental health challenges are increasingly prevalent, ResiFest seeks to create a safe, supportive space where individuals can connect, share, and heal.
The festival’s slogan, “Resilience Forged Through Community and the Arts,” captures the essence of the event. By combining artistic expression with community resources, ResiFest offers a holistic approach to mental wellness. From music performances to meditation sessions, the festival provides attendees with various tools and activities designed to promote mental health and emotional resilience.
A Packed Lineup of Entertainment and Activities
ResiFest will feature two main stages—JSounds Stage and Amy’s Stage—each packed with an impressive lineup of local talent. Starting at 10:00 AM, the JSounds Stage will kick off with a performance by Heather Evans, followed by a diverse range of acts including Miss Ohio, Graveyard Pete, and ALON. The stage will also host Ebri Yahlow with Divine Timing, Whitley Jean & the Attic Cats, Topher James & the Biscuit Brigade, and Imber Solis, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Amy’s Stage will feature performances from Elia Giuliani, Steve Ramey, Matthew Morgan, James Michael Meadows, and Jamie Ravine. The stage will also include a special appearance by Jonathan Alden Morgan and a closing performance by Gabrielle Solange. To cap off the day, from 4:40 PM to 6:00 PM, the stage will transform into a karaoke and open mic session, inviting festival-goers to share their talents.
In addition to live performances, the festival will feature a variety of food trucks, including My Chick’n Bites, Happy Elephant Lao & Thai Cuisine, Zap Eat R Boba Tea, Taquizas La Costenita, and Savage Sip Coffee Co. With over 30 local vendors and artists, attendees can explore a range of offerings, from unique crafts to delicious treats.
Restoration Station: A Place for Relaxation and Reflection
One of the highlights of ResiFest is the “Restoration Station,” sponsored by Ampersand Candles + Oils. This area is dedicated to promoting relaxation and mindfulness, offering festival-goers the opportunity to experience massage, meditation, and thoughtful conversation. In a world where stress is all too common, the Restoration Station provides a much-needed retreat where attendees can recharge and reconnect with themselves.
The festival also features a “Kids Corner” by Mango’s Place, ensuring that even the youngest attendees have a space to enjoy the day. With a range of activities designed specifically for children, including arts and crafts, games, and more, families can participate in the festival without worrying about keeping the little ones entertained.
Supporting the Community Through Donations
ResiFest is more than just a celebration—it’s a chance to give back to the community. Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used or new non-perishable items to donate to Common Ground Free Store Ministries. These donations will go directly to supporting local families in need, making ResiFest an event that not only raises awareness about mental health but also makes a tangible difference in the lives of those in the community.
A Festival for Everyone
With its diverse lineup of performances, engaging activities, and focus on mental health, ResiFest is poised to be a highlight of the year for Delaware residents. The festival is free to attend, ensuring that everyone in the community can come together to celebrate resilience, support one another, and enjoy a day of music, art, and connection.
As Delaware continues to grow and evolve, events like ResiFest remind us of the importance of community, compassion, and care for one another. Whether you’re there for the music, the mindfulness activities, or simply to enjoy a day out with family and friends, ResiFest promises to be an event that resonates long after the day is over.
