Delaware City Council is inviting interested citizens to step forward and apply for two open positions on the Northwest New Community Authority (NCA). What Are New Community Authorities?

Each NCA is governed by a board of trustees, which includes both citizen members and representatives from local governments or developers.
For the Northwest NCA, the council seeks two citizen members to bring their perspectives and insights into decision-making for this important area of the city. While the position is unpaid, it’s a chance for residents to have a direct influence on how their community evolves and to ensure that growth is managed thoughtfully and equitably.
Commitment and Requirements
The term of office for these appointments is two years, and the commitment involves attending one annual meeting. Notably, there are no residency requirements for this role, meaning you don’t need to live within the boundaries of the Northwest NCA to apply. This makes the position open to a broader range of Delaware citizens who have a vested interest in the development of this area.
In addition to these open seats on the Northwest NCA, the City Council is also still accepting applications for two similar roles on the North New Community Authority. These positions remain unfilled, and interested applicants are encouraged to apply for either authority.
