Special to 1808Delaware

The Strand Theatre, 28 East Winter Street, is proud to present “The Room”: An Evening with Greg Sestero on Thursday, October 24 at 7 PM. All tickets are $20 per person. Sestero will provide live commentary on the cult classic film as well as sign autographs, sell merchandise, and take photos before the film.

This is the second time that Sestero will be at the historic theatre. He was at the Strand in April 2023, when he spoke of his upcoming film about UFO abduction, “Forbidden Sky.”

Tracey Peyton, the Strand’s managing director, says: “Greg Sestero is a very down-to-earth person, and he is happy to connect with his fans. He doesn’t take himself too seriously. And with all his travels, he says that the Strand’s popcorn is the best he has ever had. We are looking forward to a big crowd that night. Don’t forget your spoons.”

An American actor, filmmaker, model, and author, Sestero is best known for his role as Mark in the 2003 cult film “The Room,” as well as for his well-received memoir “The Disaster Artist,” detailing his experiences making “The Room,” which itself was later adapted into a 2017 film. He also appeared in a minor role as James in the 2020 Netflix miniseries “The Haunting of Bly Manor.”

After its release, “The Disaster Artist” debuted on the New York Times Bestseller List for Paperback Nonfiction. This memoir was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2018. The film adaptation stars James Franco, Seth Rogen, Dave Franco, Sharon Stone, Bryan Cranston, and Alison Brie.

Sestero teamed up with “The Disaster Artist” collaborator Tommy Wiseau again for the film “Best F(r)iends” (2018), written by Sestero and inspired by a road trip he took with Wiseau in 2003. He collaborated with Wiseau for a third time on “Big Shark”, which had its world premiere on April 2, 2023, at Cinema 21 in Portland, Oregon. Sestero’s directorial debut, “Miracle Valley,” premiered at Salem Horror Film Festival in October 2022.
