Panda Express, the American Chinese fast-food chain, is opening a new location in Lewis Center. The Powell Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, December 6 at 9:00 AM at 6520 Pullman Drive, Lewis Center.
This is the second Panda Express to open this year in Delaware County, following the Delaware location at 1400 Sunbury Road. Both locations aim to meet the demand for American Chinese cuisine in the area.
A Heritage of Flavor
Panda Express began in 1973 when Andrew Cherng and his father, Master Chef Ming-Tsai Cherng, opened Panda Inn in Pasadena, California. The first Panda Express opened in 1983, thanks to a partnership involving UCLA football coach Terry Donahue. Peggy Cherng’s engineering expertise helped create systems that improved efficiency. The introduction of Orange Chicken in 1987 became a turning point for the brand.
With over 2,400 locations worldwide, Panda Express is known for blending Eastern and Western flavors. Popular dishes include Orange Chicken and Beijing Beef. Despite occasional criticisms about authenticity, the chain has a loyal following for its bold flavors.
Panda Cares Foundation
Panda Express is committed to community support through its Panda Cares Foundation, which has donated over $250 million to charitable initiatives, focusing on education and disaster relief. The chain continues to expand internationally, with locations in Canada, Mexico, South Korea, and the UAE.
Lewis Center Welcomes Panda Express
The new Lewis Center location brings convenience and community engagement to the area. The ribbon-cutting event is open to all, offering the community a chance to enjoy Panda Express’s popular dishes.
Don’t miss the grand opening at 6520 Pullman Drive on December 6, 2024, at 9:00 AM. Come and enjoy American Chinese cuisine at its best.
