The Delaware County District Library is bringing warmth to the chilly season with its Winter Reading Club, running from December 1 through January 31. This program encourages readers of all ages to enjoy books and participate in library activities while earning chances to win exciting prizes. It’s simple to join and fun for everyone.

To participate, readers can pick up an official Winter Reading Club bookmark at any DCDL branch, download it from the library’s Winter Reading website, or find it inside the winter Check It Out quarterly newsletter. Participants fill out their bookmarks with any combination of four books they’ve read or library programs they’ve attended, whether in-person or virtual. Once completed, bookmarks can be returned to the library, where readers choose which prize basket they’d like to enter to win.

Prize baskets are available at all DCDL locations, including those serving Community & Family Outreach Services patrons. Each basket is carefully curated with goodies for specific age groups: 0-5 years old, 6-12 years old, teens, and adults. Baskets include items such as new books, library swag, gift cards, and other delightful surprises. Readers are welcome to enter for any basket, regardless of their age.

Participants are encouraged to submit as many bookmarks as they’d like. Every completed bookmark increases the odds of winning, so the more you read or engage with library programs, the better your chances. There’s no limit to the number of entries, making the Winter Reading Club a great way to stay motivated and enjoy new stories throughout the winter months.

At the beginning of February, library staff will draw winners for each prize basket at every location and contact them directly. Until then, readers are encouraged to keep the excitement for books alive by diving into their favorite genres, exploring new reads, or joining library programs.

This year’s Winter Reading Club offers an excellent opportunity to discover new adventures in books, connect with the library, and win exciting prizes—all while keeping the joy of reading alive during the colder months. Whether you’re a lifelong book lover or just looking for some winter fun, this program has something for everyone.
