The Ohio State Highway Patrol recently held its 2024 Leadership Awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding troopers across the state for their service and dedication to public safety. Among this year’s honorees was Trooper Brian K. Garloch of the Delaware Post, who received multiple distinctions for his exemplary work in law enforcement.

Colonel Paul A. Pride State Criminal Patrol Award

Trooper Garloch earned this prestigious award for conducting 87 felony case investigations in 2024, leading to 125 felony arrests—the highest in the state.

A member of the 158th Academy Class, Trooper Garloch joined the Patrol in March 2015 and has served at the Wapakoneta, Marion, and Delaware posts. His career is marked by numerous accolades, including being named Post Trooper of the Year four times and District Trooper of the Year once. He has also won the Criminal Patrol Award six times and is a three-time Ace Award winner for excellence in auto larceny investigations.

Columbus District Trooper of the Year

In addition to the statewide recognition, Trooper Garloch was also named Trooper of the Year for the Columbus District, underscoring his leadership and dedication within central Ohio.

A 2014 graduate of Marion Technical College with an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice, Trooper Garloch continues to demonstrate excellence in protecting Ohio’s communities.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Leadership Awards honor troopers who make a significant impact through enforcement, investigations, and community service. Congratulations to Trooper Garloch and all the award recipients for their dedication to keeping Ohio safe.
