1808Delaware provides regular weekend reports on road project work being conducted under the auspices of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) in Delaware and Franklin Counties.

Such work is, of course, weather dependent. This past week, ODOT District 6 shared announcements of current and upcoming work in the area.


NEW IMPACTS

State Route 521 Bridge Replacements

  • SR 521 between Blue Church Rd. and SR 61 will close starting Monday, April 28 for 45 days for bridge replacement.
    • Detour: SR 61 to U.S. 36/SR 37 to SR 521 or reverse.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

U.S. 36/SR 37 ‘The Point’

  • The south half of U.S. 36 between Foley St. and the railroad bridge will close starting Tuesday, February 25. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Left turns from U.S. 36 westbound onto Public Works Dr. will not be permitted. This traffic pattern will be in place through Spring 2025.
  • The southbound right turn lane on SR 521 at U.S. 36/SR 37 will close starting Wednesday, February 19 through Spring 2025. Right turns will be maintained via the through lane.
  • Starting Friday, December 20, U.S. 36/SR 37 (Williams St./Central Ave.) will have two lanes open in each direction between Bowtown Rd. and Sky View Lane. Traffic will remain reduced to one lane in each direction under the railroad bridge. Access to Bowtown Rd. from U.S. 36/SR 37 will be restored.

NEW IMPACTS

Far East Freeway

  • I-70 westbound at I-270 on the east side will close overnight (11 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Thursday, April 10.
    • Detour: I-70 westbound to I-270 northbound to Main St. to I-270 southbound to I-70 westbound
  • The I-270 northbound ramp to I-70 westbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Thursday, April 10.
    • Detour: I-270 northbound to Main St. to I-270 southbound to I-70 westbound
  • The Brice Rd. ramp to I-70 westbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Thursday, April 10.
    • Detour: Brice Rd. to Main St. to I-270 southbound to I-70 westbound
  • The I-70 westbound ramp to I-270 southbound will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Thursday, April 10.
    • Detour: I-70 westbound to I-270 northbound to Main St. to I-270 southbound

I-270 Resurfacing

  • The U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close starting Sunday, April 13 for one month for bridge work.
    • Detour: U.S. 33 eastbound to Hamilton Rd. to U.S. 33 westbound to I-270 northbound

Hamilton Road Bridge Rehabilitation

  • I-270 southbound at Hamilton Rd. will be reduced to three lanes starting 8 p.m. Friday, April 11 through 5 a.m., Tuesday, April 15. Access to Hamilton Rd. will remain open.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

I-70 Pavement Reconstruction

  • I-70 westbound between the Madison County Line and Hilliard Rome Rd. was reduced to two lanes starting Wednesday, March 26.

Gantz Road Bridge Rehabilitation

  • Gantz Rd. over I-270 will close starting Monday, March 31 for 120 days for bridge replacement.
    • Detour: Home Rd. to U.S. 62 to Frank Rd. to Gantz Rd. or reverse.

Hamilton Road Bridge Rehabilitaiton

  • The Hamilton Rd. bridge over I-270 will have various daily lane restrictions starting Monday, August 26 through spring 2024. Northbound traffic will be shifted to the southbound lanes of the bridge.
  • The Hamilton Rd. northbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close starting Sunday, September 22 through spring 2024.
    • Northbound detour: Hamilton Rd. to Broad St. to I-270 
    • Southbound detour: Hamilton Rd. to Granville St. to U.S. 62 to I-270
