- Board of Zoning Appeals
Term: 3 years
Eligibility: Third Ward resident
Help shape the look and feel of Delaware’s neighborhoods by reviewing land-use appeals and zoning decisions. - Civil Service Commission
Term: 6 years
Eligibility: Any resident
Play a vital role in maintaining fair and transparent hiring practices for city employees. - Planning Commission
Term: 3 years
Eligibility: First Ward resident
Influence the city’s long-term growth by reviewing new development proposals and planning initiatives. - Delaware North New Community Authority
Term: 2 years
Eligibility: Any resident
Get involved with one of the city’s newest planning efforts designed to foster community-building and innovation.

Each board or commission typically meets once a month, and all meetings are open to the public. Interested residents are encouraged to attend a meeting before applying to get a feel for the work and responsibilities involved.
