The Delaware County Board of Commissioners is inviting residents to apply for a seat on the Delaware County Transit Board, the group that oversees the county’s public transportation system.

The opening is for an unexpired term that will begin on October 25, 2025, and run through October 24, 2027. The seven-member board is responsible for the governance, management, administration, and operation of the county’s transit services, and each member serves a three-year term.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must be both residents and registered voters of Delaware County at the time of appointment and throughout their term. By law, no more than four members of the board may belong to the same political party. Because of the current board makeup, people of any political affiliation—or those unaffiliated with a political party—are welcome to apply.

Board Commitments

The Transit Board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM at the Delaware County Transit Office, 119 Henderson Court, Delaware. Regular attendance is required, and members who miss three or more regularly scheduled meetings in a year risk dismissal from the board.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted through the county’s online application portal at
https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/codelawareoh/transferjobs.

Questions can be directed to Matt Brown, Delaware County Human Resources, at 740-833-2125 or mbrown@co.delaware.oh.us.

The deadline to apply is 11:59 PM on August 20, 2025.
