On one upcoming weekend, Preservation Parks is celebrating spring by welcome two different bird species at two different venues.

On Saturday, April 13, “Amethysts of the Sky” will recognize the return of purple martins to Gallant Farm. As always, the martins will entertain with their aerial acrobatics and delightful songs. They have to be seen and heard to be believed!

Crafts and fun activities will help celebrate their turn. The fun happens between 10 AM and 3 PM at the Farm, located at 2150 Buttermilk Hill Road in Delaware

The next day, rejoice with Preservation Parks on the return of ospreys to Alum Creek Reservoir at “Osprey Homecoming.” Watch ospreys through spotting scopes, make crafts, and learn more about their remarkable recovery from the brink of extinction.

Also enjoy a self-guided hike from the nature center to the platforms or drive to them. This takes place at Hogback Ridge Park, 2656 Hogback Road in Sunbury.

Both events are free and for all ages.
