From the Delaware County District Library
The Delaware County District Library (DCDL) Board of Trustees thanked Scott Tiede for his service as a Board member at their regular meeting on Tuesday.
Tiede sent his letter of resignation to Judge Marianne Hemmeter in March, stating that his last day on the DCDL Board of Trustees would be April 30, 2026. In his resignation letter, he stated:
“It has been a privilege to serve on the board and to contribute to the mission of Delaware County District Library in supporting literacy, lifelong learning, and community enrichment for the residents of Delaware County. I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside dedicated fellow trustees, library staff, and community partners during my tenure.
This decision comes as a result of my family relocating outside of Delaware County in the near future.”
Tiede was presented with an outgoing Trustee gift, and an honorary proclamation was read into the record.
“We are servants in this community, and as long as we keep that attitude that we are servants, we will do well,” said Tiede as part of his outgoing sentiments.
Also at the regular meeting, Human Resources Coordinator Amanda Sheterom was presented with a Certificate of Achievement from Ohio Deferred Compensation’s Employer Recognition Program in recognition of her dedication and hard work in advocacy for employee retirement savings.
DCDL Director Bryan Howard shared about a potential partnership with Buckeye Valley School District.
The Friends of the Delaware County District Library (FOL) presented the Library with a $41,000 check to cover the costs of the Summer Reading Club, taking place at DCDL from June 1 through July 31, 2026. FOL President Nichole Klatte gave an update on the organization’s upcoming fundraiser, A Night at the Races, taking place on Thursday, April 30, which benefits DCDL and is officially sold out.
Trustees held discussions regarding Trustee committees, the annual review process of Trustee-reporting DCDL staff, and library policies regarding guardian notifications of a juvenile’s library use.
Present at the meeting were Trustees Scott Tiede, Reggie Ike, Aaron Kenter, Lori Kipfer, and Stacey Neff; Trustees Lisa Kraft and Connie Skinner were absent.
