Powell City Council held the first reading of the proposed 2020 budget during this week’s meeting.

The Finance Committee held two meetings in October to review the proposed 2020 budget with departments.

“This collaborative approach with the Finance Committee and staff is helpful in reviewing the budget and discussing priorities,” said Vice Mayor and Finance Committee Chair Tom Counts. “As a result of the pending retirement of City Manager Steve Lutz, we felt the budget should remain ‘status quo’, meaning we should not make any major policy decisions until City Council hires a new City Manager.”

City Council will hold a second reading of the proposed 2020 budget during their next meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 in the Municipal Building Council Chambers, 47 Hall Street.
