Scouts and their leaders who are looking for service projects need look no further than at Delaware and Alum Creek State Parks. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has made information available about service opportunities at the parks easy to access through an online interface.

Though a link on the Resources for Scouts page on the ODNR website, details on each opportunity is available as well as sign-up instructions.

At Delaware State Park, those include maintaining flower beds, interpretative trails, and trail marking. At Alum Creek State Park, shoreline cleanup, painting/staining doors and kiosks, beach and parking lot cleanup, picnic table assembly, trail maintenance and benches, amphitheatre trails and stairs, and building a three hold disc golf course projects are identified.

Each project description includes a short description, the anticipated length of time to complete, and whether or not it remains available.

The access page is here; click on “Projects by Region” on the bottom left, and then look under “Projects in Central Ohio” on the bottom right.
