The information shared by medical professionals concerning the current pandemic has emphasized that the infection rate for the COVID-19/Coronavirus, as with past virus outbreaks, will grow expontentially.

At 2:00 PM on Saturday, that proved to be the case when the most recent infection numbers were released on the Ohio Department of Health’s special COVID-19 webpage. After successive days when the number of confirmed cases rose from 3, to 4, to 5, and to 13 on Friday, today’s figure stood at 26.

According to the site, these 26 individuals are in 8 Ohio counties:

  • Belmont County — 2
  • Butler County — 4
  • Cuyahoga County — 11
  • Franklin County — 1
  • Lorain County — 1
  • Stark County — 3
  • Summit County — 2
  • Trumbull County — 2

The first central Ohio case is a 49 year old Columbus man who recently took a Central American cruise. The Delaware General Health District has not reported any official numbers for Persons Under Investigation (“PUI”), another statistic monitored by the Ohio Department of Health. The latest Coronavirus update  from the District can be read here.

Additional updates, cancellations, and changes to area business, local governments, and churches are being noted this evening on our COVID-19/Coronavirus Update page.
