The deluge of water that the area experienced recently is continuing to make its impact known.

Earlier this week, the District Six office of the Ohio Department of Transportation shared news via Facebook and on OHGO.com, the state’s real-time traffic advisory system, that US42 had been closed at SR37 until further notice for “emergency repairs.”

Drivers were advised to take US23 to SR229 to get to US42.

On Thursday, ODOT revealed the nature of that emergency — a giant sinkhole. According to the department, it is working with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Delaware County Emergency Management, and the City of Delaware to plan and execute repairs. No date of completion has been set.

Photos of the sinkhole are below.
