The young lady in the center of this first photograph is Annie Waltz. As a fifth grader earlier this year, she wrote to Delaware Mayor Carolyn Kay Riggle, asking if Aug. 18th could be declared a day to recognize the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote. Yesterday at the Delaware County Board of Elections, Annie, along with Mayor Riggle, County Commissioner Barb Lewis, Elections Director Karla Herron, Municipal Court Clerk Cindy Dinovo, Municipal Judge Marianne Hemmeter and Delaware City Prosecutor Natalia Harris did just that. It’s very exciting to meet the next generation of women who makes things happen!
