The retail woes caused by the combination of the continued rise of online shopping and the current pandemic has resulted in the loss of another Delaware County retailer.

Multiple industry publications and news sites across the country have reported that the first 63 Bed Bath & Beyond stores to close in the chain’s previously announced 200 store reduction has been selected.

The company says the store closures are an “important step” in its effort “to create a sustainable, durable business.”

Two of the four stores on the closure list are in central Ohio. They are at the following locations:

  • 1750 Hill Road North, in Pickerington
  • 1170 Polaris Parkway, in Columbus

It is anticipated that over 2,500 jobs will be lost with these store closings.

Bed Bath & Beyond locations at Easton, Dublin-Granville Road, and Lane Avenue are not impacted at this time.
