It’s not every restaurant chain that has a tongue-in-cheek manifesto, one which it broadly proclaims on its website.

In the case of Terriyaki Madness, it goes like this:

“IT TAKES HUGE BOWLS TO MAKE SOMETHING THIS AWESOME!

We believe you are what you eat. And that’s exactly why you should eat something awesome. No gut-bombs. We’re talking about real food, made-to-order, with fresh, high quality ingredients, that makes you feel like a million bucks and satisfies your craving. We believe you should have a home-cooked meal, even if it’s not cooked in your home. But our home is your home, so we’ll keep the wok fired up. Some people call us crazy. We say anything less would be madness. So, the real question is, what are you going to eat today? Something awesome, if you’re here.”

Earlier this month, Teriyaki Madness came to Delaware County, opening its new eatery at 833 Poiaris Parkway in Westerville, near Olde Worhington Road.

The chain has locations across the country, from Florida to California. It is also currently expanding; two of its recent openings were in Chicago and Mexico City.

The menu at Terriyaki Madness features customizable bowls, which can include chicken, steak, noodles, rice, veggies, tofu, and much more. It’s referred to as “Seattle style” teriyaki, which is a slight variation from the traditional Japanese. Seattle style sauce includes additional ginger and garlic; meat is soaked overnight before grilling with additional teriyaki sauce.
