What a weekend for local media!

On the same day, and totally unplanned and uncoordinated, two Delaware County news sites began the move to new formats.

Here at 1808Delaware, we began a long-planned move to a new, quicker, cleaner look.

The result will be a new look for 1808Delaware, a smoothly flowing (and quicker) site, new features, and more. We considered going offline for a few days while this transition takes place, but instead we decided to allow our readers to take this journey with us. It will take a few days to complete, so please bear with us.

1808Delaware has now been a part of the DelawareCounty scene for over three years. Today, we have a strong readership on the site, via social media, and through 1808AM, our daily enewsletter. We have also established great working relationships with newsmakers in Delaware and around the county.

As we go along, please feel free to drop us a line at: 1808delaware@gmail.com with comments, suggestions, and news tips.

Over the last 24 hours, the Delaware Gazette website has also been updated with a new appearance. This apparently is an AIM Media Midwest initiative, as the Delaware site bears a striking resemblance to the Wilmington News Journal online (can be accessed here).
