Everstream, the business-only fiber network, has announced it is on pace to quadruple its planned investment across its Columbus footprint since first entering the market in August 2019. This newly constructed, all-fiber network is benefiting enterprises, manufacturers, and heath care providers across the metro Columbus area, providing access to reliable high-capacity fiber services.

To date, Everstream has invested $88 million in the market and constructed 875 fiber route miles compared to its originally planned $24 million investment and 580 fiber route miles. Everstream plans to deploy an additional 475 miles through the end of 2022, for a market total of 1,350 route miles in the Columbus and Dayton areas.

The company expects its total investment in the Columbus market to reach $100 million by year-end. It has also grown its employee base in Columbus accordingly, from 20 in 2019 to 33 today.

“With strong economic and population growth, Columbus has become one of the fastest-growing cities in the Midwest,” said Everstream CEO Brett Lindsey. “Everstream’s efforts in the Columbus market reflect our commitment to meet this burgeoning demand with a high-capacity fiber network that delivers the level of reliability today’s businesses require.”

Customers benefiting from Everstream’s growth in Columbus include JEGS, a distributor of high-performance car parts and accessories. Founded in Columbus more than 60 years ago, JEGS also has a strong ecommerce presence to serve customers around the world. Its wide area network and dedicated internet access solutions from Everstream provide connectivity between its headquarters and warehouse in Delaware and its retail store in Columbus, and to two data center facilities.

“JEGS is undergoing an aggressive network transformation, and by partnering with Everstream, we no longer have to worry about connectivity—the network is just always available,” said Tyler Connell, director of network systems and security at JEGS. “They met every one of our requirements for resiliency, and the time it took to bring new services to market was unmatched. Thanks to Everstream, we can now look at other opportunities to improve our business applications and better serve our clients.”

“When looking for a connectivity partner, JEGS’ goals were clear: eliminate downtime and lost revenue, increase productivity and sales, and improve customer experience and satisfaction,” said Kevin Johnson, president, at KANO & Associates, JEGS’ technology consultant. “Everstream was able to achieve those objectives easily and the entire service delivery process was seamless.”

Everstream’s enterprise-grade network delivers robust business fiber services, including dedicated internet access, wide area network, dark fiber, data center connectivity and wavelengths. Everstream’s advanced fiber network offers direct peering with all major carriers and cloud hyperscalers. With high-speed, low-latency connections, it can accommodate converged internet, voice and data services at speeds of up to 100 Gbps.
